Built in the mid-1800s by John Roebling who later incorporated some of the same design principles in the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge. This bridge originally was one of four aqueducts on the Delaware and Hudson Canal spanning the Delaware River, providing a link between Pike County with Sullivan County, New York.
