There are many places to fish in the region during the winter months. Three lakes that provide good to excellent bass, panfish and pickerel are Lake Wallenpaupack, Pecks Pond and Shohola Lake. Trout and walleyed bass can also be found in Lake Wallenpaupack.
Trails in State Forests and State Parks are open, weather permitting, from the day following firearms deer season which ends in December, through March 31. State Game Land trails are open from January 15 through March 31. The state Snowmobile Hotline at toll-free 1-877-SNO-MBLE provides regional information on snowmobile conditions. It’s updated every Tuesday and Friday. All snowmobiles must be registered and have liability insurance coverage.
